My husband (36 years old) was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. How is this different from type 2 diabetes? Is this diagnosis typical for someone of his age? Does he need to go on a special restricted diet? We exercise together and wonder what he should include in his workouts? This diagnosis have been rather overwhelming for us as a couple but we want to develop a plan to manage his disease and optimize his health.
