Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy versus an Athletic Heart: Identifying the Difference.

Adam deJong, M.A., FACSM, is the manager of Noninvasive Cardiology at the Ernst Cardiovascular Center at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI, and is a faculty lecturer in the School of Health Sciences at Oakland University in Rochester, MI. He earned his Bachelor’s of Applied Arts and Master’s of Arts degrees in Exercise Science from Central Michigan University. He currently serves as chair of the Professional Education Committee for the American College of Sports Medicine, as well as on ACSM’s Committee on Certification and Registry Boards as the chair for the International Certification and Continuing Professional Education Subcommittees.
