We are delighted by the comments from Kumar and colleagues. Their passion for considering the advantages and disadvantages of the Socratic method is further evidence that this controversial teaching method is relevant among medical students. We thank Kumar and colleagues for highlighting additional literature that supplements our discussion. Lastly, we are encouraged to see that medical trainees around the world are energized by our study, and we hope that our work will motivate emerging educators to further explore this opportunity for medical education.
