About the Journal

Journal of Clinical and Scientific Research is a double-blind peer-reviewed print + online Quarterly journal. The journal publishes original research communications of clinical and biomedical research that advance or illuminate medical science as well as those that improve clinical acumen.

The journal's full text is available online at http://www.jcsr.co.in. The journal allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive the final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional / subject-based repository.

Journal of Clinical and Scientific Research, a publication of Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences, was started, in 2012 when the university authorities headed by the then Director-Cum Vice-Chancellor felt the need for creating a forum for documenting research conducted across the country and the globe in the form of a "medical journal" on the lines of the National Medical Journal of India (a publication of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi) and Mayo Clinic Proceedings (USA). The name of the journal was proposed as “Journal of Clinical and Scientific Research” to include both clinical, basic medical, and translational research into the publication scope of the journal. Also, it was decided that the whole process will be non-commercial and the whole expenditure will be borne entirely by the SVIMS. Accordingly, no Advertisements shall be accepted to run the journal, no submission, processing, or publication fees shall be levied to authors, the free full text will be available online immediately after the issue is published and free print copies will be distributed to libraries of as many medical colleges in India as possible.

Journal Ethics

Wolters Kluwer and Journal/Association are committed to meeting and upholding standards of ethical behavior at all stages of the publication process. We follow closely the industry associations, such as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), that set standards and provide guidelines for best practices in order to meet these requirements. For a summary of our specific policies regarding duplicate publication, conflicts of interest, patient consent, etc., please visit www.Medknow.com/EthicalGuidelines.asp

Open Access Publication and Creative Commons Licensing

This is an open access journal, and articles are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 License, which allows others to remix, tweak, and build upon the work non-commercially, as long as appropriate credit is given and the new creations are licensed under the identical terms.

Digital Archiving

Wolters Kluwer Medknow provides for long-term digital preservation through two primary partnerships, Portico and CLOCKSS.

Portico is a leading digital preservation service worldwide. The content is preserved as an archival version and is not publically accessible via Portico, but is provided when required under specific conditions, such as discontinuation of the collection or catastrophic failure of the website.

CLOCKSS will enable any library to maintain their own archive of content from Wolters Kluwer Medknow and other publishers, with minimal technical effort and using cheaply available hardware.

Ahead of Print policy

Articles published online under the Ahead of Print model are considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. Wolters Kluwer Medknow has a policy that changes will not be made after publication of an article without following accepted procedures for making corrections to the scientific record.

Advertisements

While advertisements are crucial to this journal to be able to keep all content free for everyone, ethical considerations are in place to ensure the integrity of the journal and its content:

  • "Pop-up" and "banner" ads appear on a random, rotating basis. The advertiser has no control or input over the pages where their ads appear.
  • The Editorial Board has full and final approval over the content of all advertisements.
  • Advertisers will never be shown any manuscripts or other content prior to publication.

Scope of the journal
The Journal of Clinical and Scientific Research (JCSR) [ISSN (print) 2277-5706 and ISSN (online) 2277-8357  publishes original communications of clinical and biomedical research. It present s innovative and novel biomedical research that advances, illuminates medical science or educates the journal readers as well as those that improve the clinical acumen. Articles with clinical interest and implications will be given preference. It is issued Quarterly, in four issues per year. Manuscripts dealing with clinical and biomedical research will be considered for publication as Original Articles provided they contain results of original investigations. Medical practitioners are encouraged to contribute interesting Case Reports. Review Articles (whether invited or submitted) are intended to provide comprehensive latest review of burning topics in clinical and biomedical research. Short Communications of original research and clinical experiences, Clinical Images, Commentaries, Radiology Forum, and Book Reviews are considered under Special Features category. Correspondences on opinion/discussion on published articles as well as other relevant issues will also be considered. All manuscripts submitted to JCSR will go through a stringent peer review process. The JCSR strongly discourages duplication/reduplication of data already published in other journals. Manuscripts are considered with the understanding that they are not under consideration for publication elsewhere. If and when duplication is detected after publishing in JCSR, the journal will ‘retract’ such articles. The journal bases its policies on “Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals” which can be accessed at the URL: http:// www.icmje.org/urm_full.pdf
