The Indian Speech and Hearing Association (ISHA) was formed in the year 1967 under Mysore Societies Registration Act, 1960. ISHA is governed by speech and hearing professionals consisting of 12 Executive Council members who hold various positions and work towards growth of the profession in different horizon. Today, ISHA is a well-established organization with headquarter located at Mysuru, Karnataka (India) and has 15 state level branches and chapters spread all over the country. Currently, there are around 3600 Speech and Hearing professionals who are registered life members of ISHA, spread across the globe. Vision Statement: ISHA envisages professional excellence in Speech, Language and Hearing services, safeguarding professional ethics and the interest of professionals and the people with Speech, Language and Hearing disorders.

Mission Statement: ISHA promotes excellence in Speech, Language and Hearing profession and rehabilitation services through advocacy, leadership, unique and continued education, both for public and professional awareness, ethical considerations, outcome monitoring, professional networking and support to research.

Annual convention i.e. Indian Speech and Hearing Association conference (ISHACON) is one of the major events of ISHA organized across different parts of the country. This conference is combination of scientific presentation and continuing education program organized to quench the thirst of our researchers, academicians and private practitioners wherein they share and update their professional knowledge in the field of Speech, Language and Hearing.
