Allegic rhinitis (AR) is an immune hypersensitivity response of the nasal mucosa affecting children and adults. Patients with a genetic predisposition become sensitized to certain allergens over time with repeated exposures. This article discusses AR from diagnosis through treatment.

Screening for chlamydia: Are you doing it?

This retrospective study evaluates the implications of offering routine chlamydia screenings to women ages 16 to 25 in a primary care clinical setting. Results found that routine screenings significantly increased the number of women screened, enabling early identification and treatment of affected women and potentially reducing infection rates.

Implementing a urinary tract infection clinical practice guideline in an ambulatory urgent care practice

A clinical practice guideline for uncomplicated urinary tract infections in an ambulatory urgent care practice was implemented. Aims were to increase the number of first-line antibiotics prescribed to treat uncomplicated urinary tract infections, increase the use of a second-line antibiotic when appropriate, and decrease the number of unnecessary urine cultures.
