A protocol is presented for NPs in the primary care setting to assist them in providing psychosocial support for these couples. Rebecca J. Payne is a graduate of the Master of Science in Nursing program at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, with a focus on family practice. Cherry Guinn has worked at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for more than 24 years. She currently holds the position of Associate Professor of Nursing. Barbara F.
