BELTONE APPOINTS NEW PRESIDENT

Beltone (beltone.com http://www.beltone.com) named Corrine Perritano the newest president of Beltone North America.

Most recently, Ms. Perritano was the CEO of Total Woman Gym and Spa, one of the largest full-service gym and day spas in California. Prior to this role, she spent 22 years with Jenny Craig, Inc., a weight management and nutrition company.

Ms. Perritano will manage Beltone's U.S. and Canada operations and report directly to GN Hearing Group's CEO Anders Hedegaard.

OTICON RECEIVES FDA CLEARANCE

Oticon Medical (oticonmedical.com http://www.oticonmedical.com/) announced the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted 510(k) clearance to market the Ponto Abutment Extension.

The Ponto extension connects to existing structures so users can upgrade their bone-anchored hearing aids without changing abutments or undergoing further surgery.

The newest extension completes the Ponto abutment family, making it the most flexible and versatile implant solution available.

WIDEX AND EARQ FORM TECH COLLABORATION

EarQ (earq.com https://www.earq.com/) announced Widex (widexusa.com http://www.widexusa.com/) will add its hearing devices to the EarQ line of products in Spring 2016.

The partnership will allow EarQ members to expand their product portfolios and have greater access to sought-after hearing technology such as the Widex CROS, UNIQUE, SUPER, ZEN Therapy, and DREAM.

ZPOWER ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH AUDNET

ZPower (zpowerbattery.com http://zpowerbattery.com/) announced a new partnership with AuDNet Inc., a group-purchasing organization that supports audiology through collective buying power.

ZPower now offers its Rechargeable System for Hearing Aids to AuDNet members at a substantial discount off regular wholesale pricing.

The ZPower Rechargeable System is designed to offer a full day of continuous power, charge overnight in the hearing aids, take the place of about 200 disposable batteries, and last one full year. The battery is meant to be replaced once every year by a hearing care professional.

SIVANTOS, ESCO FORM PARTNERSHIP

Sivantos (sivantos.com http://www.sivantos.com/en/) has partnered with ESCO, a provider of extended warranties and loss and damage coverage, to provide the Protection Plus plan.

Under the agreement, the companies have partnered to make Protection Plus coverage available to patients who have lost hearing instruments during their manufacturer's warranty.

Patients who purchase new hearing instruments during the period of coverage will be pro-rated for the remaining portion of the term.

PHONAK DEVICE WINS iF DESIGN AWARD

Phonak's (phonak.com http://www.phonak.com/) Roger Pen, a wireless microphone for those with hearing loss, was awarded an iF DESIGN AWARD for outstanding product design.

The pen has a special layer of lacquering on its surface that reduces friction noise and guarantees speech is picked up optimally through a weight mounted on the device. The easy-to-use pen allows users to hear through clicking tiny receivers into their hearing aid. The integrated Bluetooth chip enables wireless mobile calls and transmits sound from television sets wirelessly to the ears.

The iF International Forum Design GmbH are among the most respected design prizes worldwide.

BELTONE LAUNCHES NEW DEVICE

Beltone (beltone.com http://www.beltone.com) released the Beltone Boost Plus hearing aid for individuals with severe-to-profound hearing loss.

The Boost Plus, a MiFi product accessible from a smartphone, includes features such as the personal sound ID with CrossLink directionality, feedback eraser, and sound shifter to give users a fuller listening experience.

The launch also includes the announcement of Beltone's new family of Direct Line wireless accessories, which operate on 2.4 GHz Bluetooth technology and enable wearers to stream sound directly into their hearing aids from the Beltone myPAL Pro and myPAL Micro Personal Audio Link and the Beltone TV Link 2.

STARKEY REVEALS NEW HEARING SOLUTIONS

Starkey (starkey.com http://www.starkey.com) launched Made for Life, new hearing solutions that are powered by the company's new Synergy platform and Acuity OS operating system.

The release includes the next generation of Made for iPhone hearing aids, Halo 2; a wireless Invisible-In-the-Canal hearing aid called SoundLens Synergy; and Muse, a new family of 900sync hearing aids.

RESOUND ANNOUNCES ‘SUPER POWER’ HEARING AIDS

GN ReSound (resound.com http://www.resound.com) introduced the global launch of ReSound ENZO2 for people with severe-to-profound hearing loss and in need of a “super power” solution.

The ENZO2, with benefits of the company's LiNX2, offers greater audibility, better speech understanding, and improved spatial awareness.

GN ReSound also introduced its Micro Mic and Multi Mic microphones that connect to all of their smart hearing aids. For children with hearing loss, the company launched the Up Smart 5, a solution combining MiFi and hearing technologies to support speech and language development, educational skills, and social interaction.
