That was a nice article on AAA's giveaway ban. (“AAA Giveaway Ban Moving Audiology toward Higher Ethical Ground.” HJ 2012;65:28; http://bit.ly/AAAGiveaway.)
Unfortunately, it goes both ways, receiving and giving. I think giving “free hearing testing” to trick patients into coming to the office is equally unethical. I wish you would have mentioned that. Stopping this practice would really move audiology to higher ground!

The April article, “Is the Road to an AuD Worth the Trip?” incorrectly stated Therese Walden's degree. Dr. Walden, the president of the American Academy of Audiology, is an AuD. The Hearing Journal apologizes for the error.
