Big business, big entertainment, big ideas
Big things are expected at the Academy of Doctors of Audiology's 33rd Annual Convention, which features an expanded program offering more opportunities than ever for learning and networking.
The meeting will officially kick off Thursday afternoon with keynote speaker and ethicist Frank Bucaro, CSP, CPAE, discussing the five pillars of business development: reputation, trust and loyalty, accountable leadership, having a moral compass, and stewardship, in his keynote presentation, “Good Company: Be the Organization that People Want to Work For, Partner With, Invest In, and Buy From.”
That morning, a pre-conference workshop will be held, followed on Friday and Saturday by 26 featured sessions covering topics in four areas: practice development/business tools; diagnostic/biomedical/research; amplification/rehabilitation/counseling; and professional/advocacy/legal/ethics.
The 2010 convention will feature the launch of ADA's unique year-round student mentoring program, which is designed to give AuD students an opportunity for consistent mentorship throughout their education.
There will be two Texas-sized nights of fun in San Antonio, starting with a Friday night party at Buckhorn Saloon, complete with Texan cuisine and country western music. The saloon houses a wax museum of Texas history and wildlife exhibits comprised of over 520 species.
Saturday night, ADA will present “Amplitude, Attitude, and Gratitude,” a dinner party with food, dancing, and live comedy poking fun at the profession.
