Abstract

Carcinoma of the thyroid gland is the most common malignancy of the endocrine system. Spontaneous rupture of a thyroid carcinoma with life-threatening hemorrhage is an infrequent complication. Selective angiography and thyroid arterial embolization should be considered as an early treatment of patients with ruptured thyroid tumors and hemorrhage.
