Abstract

Many techniques exist for the performance of core decompression of the femoral head, and many surgeons have reported good results with a variety of techniques. The technique described here uses equipment available to all orthopaedic surgeons. Using a guide pin for initial placement, the position of the core tract can be precisely controlled and its placement can be optimized.
