The measurement of vascularized retinal pigment epithelial detachment height with optical coherence tomography provides the clinician an expedient tool to gauge the relative risk of retinal pigment epithelial tears associated with bevacizumab injections, given the highly significant risk of preinjection vascularized pigment epithelial detachment height beyond 400 μm for this complication.
