I see it stand in the storm

Alone, fragmented, torn.

I shield it with my hand

My creation of golden sand.

I see the ruthless thunder

Blow the dry leaves asunder.

I reach out-stumble, grope,

Fervently pray; hope.

I hold on tight; I fumble

I see it break and crumble

The light flickers, dies

As I cry, as I cry.
