The Cancer Research and Prevention Foundation presented Cancer Prevention Laurels to three individuals during the Foundation's recent conference, “Dialogue for Action in Colorectal Screening: Looking at the Big Picture While Keeping Our Eyes on the Ball.”
* Linda Burhansstipanov, MSPH, DrPH, CHES, Western Cherokee Tribe Director of Native American Cancer Initiatives, Inc., in Pine, Colorado, received the Cancer Prevention Laurel for Outstanding Public Service.
* Harold P. Freeman, MD, Medical Director of the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention, was awarded the Cancer Prevention Laurel for Outstanding National Leadership. Dr. Freeman, a member of OT's Editorial Board, is a pioneer in working to ensure that underserved communities receive proper access to health care.
* Barry Stein, Esq., Founder and President of the Colon Cancer Association of Canada, reeived the Cancer Prevention Laurel for Outstanding Advocacy.
