Abstract

Background: The triggering of an airport alarm by passive tracer incorporation has not been reported previously.

Methods: We describe a woman who experienced problems with an airport alarm after her husband had been treated with 131I for hyperthyroidism.

Results: Relevant information should be given to patients treated with radioisotopes.

Conclusions: Even passive tracer incorporation may trigger an airport alarm.
