THE NUMBER OF BARIATRIC (WEIGHT LOSS) SURGERIES PERFORMED EACH YEAR IS INCREASING. HOWEVER, THE SURGERY DOES NOT FACILITATE THE LIFESTYLE CHANGES THAT MUST OCCUR FOR LONG-TERM WEIGHT LOSS SUCCESS. THIS COLUMN FOCUSES ON RESISTANCE TRAINING FOR POST-BARIATRIC SURGERY PATIENTS AND ITS ROLE IN BODYWEIGHT MANAGEMENT, IMPROVING HEALTH AND FITNESS, BODY IMAGE, AND QUALITY OF LIFE.
