summary

It has recently been suggested that continuous passive motion (CPM) may be an effective alternative training method for increasing muscle strength and may promote weight loss in healthy participants. However, the evidence provided in the few reasearch studies conducted in this area indicate that CPM programs are generally not able to provide enough of an exercise stimulus to significantly influence body composition or strength.
