Meningitis Death Toll Rises from Contaminated Spinal Cord Injections
The number of deaths linked to the meningitis outbreak from contaminated spinal cord injections of methylprednisolone acetate rose to 11, the New York Times reported yesterday, with 119 people infected. Lawmakers are now calling for a Congressional inquiry into the pharmacies potentially responsible for making the drug, as well as for stricter laws to keep watch over their procedures.
