Neurology Today was awarded the 2013 Award of Excellence in the category of “One-of-a-Kind-Custom Published Publication” for its Mar. 7 issue by APEX, a communications company based in Alexandria, VA.
The editorial awards competition recognizes excellence in graphic design, editorial content, and overall communications. The entries are judged by a panel of editorial and design professionals. With close to 2,400 entries this year, competition was exceptionally intense.
The Mar. 7 issue reflected the publication's mix of news about new clinical and basic neuroscience studies; health policy and medico-legal affairs; practice management; as well as features on neurology in the arts.
The issue included articles on new studies on persistent vegetative state and cognitive function; a Medicare panel's decision on coverage for amyloid PET scans, several papers from the 2013 AAN annual meeting; and a new biomarkers initiative in Parkinson's disease from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.
