Kazuhiko Nozaki, M.D., Ph.D.
Professor and Chairman, Department of Neurosurgery, Shiga University of Medical Science, Otsu, Shiga, Japan

Dr. Nozaki was born in Kyoto on May 5, 1957. Dr. Nozaki graduated from Kyoto University School of Medicine in 1983 and from Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine in 1990. He studied as a research fellow in neurology and neurosurgery, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts from 1990 to 1992, and after spending time at the Department of Neurosurgery, Kyoto University Hospital from 1992 to 2008, he moved to his current position in February 2008. He obtained the Japanese Medical Board, Japanese Neurosurgical Board, Japan Stroke Society Board, and the Japanese Society of Spinal Surgery Board. Dr. Nozaki's interests include cerebrovascular diseases, cranial base diseases, spinal cord diseases, basic research in cerebral ischemia and cerebral aneurysms.
