Dementia II (found poem)
Thoughts fly out of my head
never to return.
Extinction: sadness amplified,
hovers yet,
the last to go.

Mud and feathers
clinging to a wall;
the phoebes flutter
around that home.
Birds sing back to us
an aspect of ourselves.

Thank you for posting, one of my friends who has Dementia enjoyes being teased and joking. Even at his self. I believe we all need to keep a sense of humor, my children tell me "It is critical" [taken from the movie Mr Mom] Hazel Andros
