Journal of Nursing Administration: January 1982
ORIGINAL ARTICLE: PDF Only

Confronted with the need to increase intershift cooperation and communication, one hospital experimented with a team-building effort to develop increased unit cohesiveness. This description of how their team-building program worked and the benefits it brought to the entire nursing departmentprovides a strategy that may be used or adapted in other settings to improve intershift cooperation and reinforce the head nurse in the role of 24-hour manager of the unit.
