Australia was one of the first countries to sustain an epidemic of RSI (repetitive strain injury) later renamed OOS (occupational overuse syndrome). However, in contrast to the United States and the United Kingdom, the epidemic resolved by the early 1990s. A variety of changes were associated with the resolution, a number of which may have been critical determinants. Several aspects will be discussed, and certain interesting compensation-related phenomena described.
