Fractures of the Supracondylar Process of the Humerus: REPORT OF TWO CASES.

Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery - American Volume: April 1967
Case Report

Two cases of a fracture of a normal anatomic variant, the supracondylar process of the humerus, are reported. Projection of the osseous spur anteriorly into the muscles of the arm may lead to local myositis ossificans and a suspicious mass after local trauma. Roentgenographic recognition of the minute fracture of the process, together with the reparative nature of the reactive bone formation in the muscle about it, should guide one to conservative management.
