CORRECTION OF EXTREME FLEXION CONTRACTURE OF THE KNEE JOINT.

HAAS, S. L.
The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery: October 1938
Archive: PDF Only

Extreme flexion contracture of the knee joint is a very disabling deformity, but it is amenable to operative correction. Care must be taken not to injure the nerves and blood vessels either by operation, by too rapid correction, or by rough manipulative methods. Skeletal traction is a useful adjunct, but its promiscuous use is to be deplored, especially when there is the possibility of infection.
