SACRALIZATION OF THE FIFTH LUMBAR VERTEBRA.

MOORE, B. H.
The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery: April 1925
Archive: PDF Only

True sacralization occurs in about 31/2 per cent of cases, both as seen in the cadaver and in the roentgenogram. In about half of the cases, there are symptons associated with its occurrence which may be related to it, but which are not accounted for by the anomaly alone. Anatomically and architecturally, the sacralized formation appears stronger and more able to resist strain than the usual arrangement.
