In the article by Kotler et al, appearing in the Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndromes, Vol. 35, No. 3, pp. 239-252, entitled “Effects of Growth Hormone on Abnormal Visceral Adipose Tissue Accumulation and Dyslipidemia in HIV-Infected Patients,” some of the data collection procedure led to errors. Please see the corrected data and analysis in the Letters to the Editor section (p. 378 of this issue [Vol. 43, No.3].
In the article by Bartlett et al, appearing in the Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndromes, Vol. 41, No. 3, pp. 323-331, entitled “Minimizing Resistance Consequences After Virologic Failure on Initial Combination Therapy: A Systematic Overview,” there were some errors in the text.
On page 324, the first paragraph of the Results section, the last sentences should read, “Ultimately, only 16 studies met inclusion criteria. ”Also on page 324, the fifth sentence in the second paragraph of the Results should read, “The summarized studies investigated a total of 14PI-containing regimens, ….”
In Table 1, on page 325, the NFV/ABC/3TC* group included 83 subjects, not 166.
In Table 2, on page 327, the COMBINE study included 142 subjects, not 335, and the Abbott 863 study included 653 subjects, not 1302.
The authors have verified that the bubble graphs (Figures 1 and 2) use the correct number of participants. Also, the P values shown in Table 2 were determined using the correct number of participants. Therefore, these errors did not influence the results reported or the conclusions based on those results.
