International mental health experts reflect on the state of the art of mental health and psychosocial support in post conflict areas and low income settings, and explore promising new directions for this field to develop over the next decade. This issue includes articles by prominent researchers as Vikram Patel, Stevan Hobfoll, Devon Hinton, Daya Somasundaram, Stevan Weine and others. The issue is edited by Mark Jordans, Wietse Tol and Peter Ventevogel and contains a final reflection by Joop de Jong, a Dutch pioneer of global mental health.
