Abstract

Abstract: Invasive disease secondary to Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) has decreased dramatically since the introduction of the Hib vaccine. Cases of non-Hib have been reported infrequently. Some are associated with immunodeficiency. We present a case of an infant with bacteremia, meningitis, and septic hip due to H.influenzae type e.
