Lauriston S. Taylor Lecture

Abstract: Most advances in science, technology, and radiation protection are not truly new ideas but rather build upon a foundation of prior work and achievements by earlier generations of scientists and researchers. This paper summarizes major achievements over the last 50–70 y in the various areas involved in radiation protection as well as giving information about some of those who were, and are, significant contributors.
