Farewell to Thomas P. Dineen, Senior Director of Publications

Today we’re taking a break from answering frequently asked questions to say goodbye to Tom Dineen, who is retiring after more than 20 years with the College. Tom is an institution here at 409 12th Street—his expertise in publishing and design is second to none.

I’ve had the privilege of directly reporting to Tom since June 2008, although “reporting” is just too formal and stiff. “Learning from” or “collaborating with” are probably the better terms. Tom works really hard—often starting his day here at 6:30 am! He approaches each task with diligence and care, but he also has a great sense of humor. When things went haywire—as they sometimes do—Tom could always make me laugh. His advice was to learn from those mistakes and keep going!

Tom has been a wonderful mentor and friend. His support over the years has given me great confidence, and I know that his positive influence has touched the lives of many of his colleagues here at the College.

I’ve learned a lot and laughed a lot. Thanks, Tom, for everything. We will miss you terribly!
