Does Obstetrics & Gynecology Publish Articles Ahead-of-Print?
Rebecca S. Benner, Director and Managing Editor
Rebecca S. Benner, Director and Managing Editor

Since January 2011, Obstetrics & Gynecology has been regularly publishing two articles ahead of print from each issue. However, we are pleased to announce that most content in the journal will now be published online 2 weeks ahead of the print mail date. This means that you’ll be able to read Editorials, Original Research, Current Commentary, Reviews, Clinical Expert Series articles, and Personal Perspectives nearly a month before you receive the print journal in the mail.

There are a few items in the journal that will not be published ahead-of-print. These items are corrections, letters to the editor, and official documents from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (Practice Bulletins, Committee Opinions, etc). In addition, web-only features that are linked to the articles (eg, Journal Clubs and Ask the Experts) will not be available in the early release.

Content that is not published ahead-of-print (and the web-only features) will be available on the regular release date (2 weeks after the publish ahead-of-print date; see below for the schedule).

All materials published ahead-of-print are available on the journal’s “Published Ahead-of-Print” web page; in fact, the March 2013 issue is available there now! To get to these articles from the home page, hover your mouse over “Articles & Issues” and select “Published Ahead-of-Print.”

Once on the Published Ahead-of-Print web page, you can subscribe to the Published Ahead-of-Print e-mail alerts or RSS feeds. To do this, you’ll need to log in to the web site. See “Why Do I Need to Register For an Account On GreenJournal.org?” on Friday FAQs (January 25, 2013) for more information.

We hope you’ll enjoy accessing most of our content early. Here is the schedule for material published ahead-of-print and on the regular deadline:
