Overview
Obstetrics & Gynecology is the official publication of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (the College). Popularly known as "The Green Journal," Obstetrics & Gynecology has been published since 1953. Then as is now, the goal of the journal is to promote excellence in the clinical practice of obstetrics and gynecology and closely related fields.

Obstetrics & Gynecology reaches over 45,000 members and non-member subscribers.

Impact Factor
Obstetrics & Gynecology's 2015 impact factor is 5.656. The journal's ranking is the second highest impact factor out of all 80 obstetrics and gynecology journals.

Embargo

As of the March 2013 issue, most content in Obstetrics & Gynecology will be published online 2 weeks ahead of the print mail date. Items that are never published ahead-of-print include corrections/errata, letters to the editor, and official College documents.

All material published ahead-of-print is embargoed until 5:00 PM ET on the date listed below:

August 2016 issue: July 11, 2016
September 2016 issue: August 8, 2016
October 2016 issue: September 8, 2016
November 2016 issue: October 11, 2016
December 2016 issue: November 8, 2016

All corrections/errata, letters to the editor, and official College documents are embargoed until 5:00 PM ET on the date listed below:

August 2016 issue: July 25, 2016
September 2016 issue: August 22, 2016
October 2016 issue: September 22, 2016
November 2016 issue: October 24, 2016
December 2016 issue: November 22, 2016

The embargo is rigidly enforced. College or Congress staff may not release or discuss with outside parties any upcoming studies or College documents prior to the embargo. This includes verification that said documents indeed are being released. This policy applies to members of the media, study authors, public information officers at universities and other institutions, and all others with access to articles published in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
