Abstract

We present a case of a woman who developed bilateral idiopathic brachial neuritis in the postpartum period following normal pregnancy and delivery. The diagnosis was substantiated with extensive electrophysiologic testing. Shoulder girdle pain and muscular dysfunction resolved slowly, and 12 months later the patient complained only of minimal shoulder discomfort. (Obstet Gynecol 73:473, 1989)
