It is a pleasure to welcome seven of our colleagues as new members of Epidemiology's Editorial Board. Our Board handles a heavy reviewing load, provides many of our book reviews and selects the winner of Rothman Epidemiology Prize (awarded annually for the best paper published in our pages).
In selecting candidates for the Board, we turn to those who have been especially insightful and diligent as reviewers—rising stars as well as established figures. The seven who are starting new 5-year terms are Leslie Bernstein, Bert Brunekreef, Nilanjan Chatterjee, Glinda Cooper, Stephanie London, Matthew Longnecker, Beate Ritz and Kyle Steenland. Glinda Cooper will take particular responsibility for helping authors from non–English speaking countries to prepare their accepted manuscripts for publication, part of our ongoing effort to dismantle whatever barriers might keep the best research from our pages.
In addition to their other responsibilities, Board members serve as the journal's eyes and ears in the research community. Feel free to contact any of them (and any of us) with your comments and reflections on Epidemiology.
