Summary: A case of carcinomatous degeneration of a pilonidal cyst is described. Exhaustive review of the world's literature reveals that this is the ninth recorded case. Active pilonidal disease should be treated by radical removal of all diseased tissue and the tissue should be routinely submitted for histologic examination.
