Evidence-based medicine provides practical tools for assessing and improving the quality of healthcare. This chapter will provide an overview of the application of evidence-based medicine concepts to the measurement of quality of care in obstetrics and gynecology. Examples of interventions to improve the quality of care in obstetrics and gynecology will also be reviewed. Finally, the principle of evidence-based management of obstetrics and gynecologic services will be described.
