March Issue and Journal Club
The March issue of Annals of Surgery contains three feature articles with accompanying editorials, two randomized controlled trials, one review article, and an additional 20 original articles. The first two features deal with up-to-date  terminology for liver anatomy and hepatic resections. The third is a randomized comparison of treatment for surgical patients with the  posttraumatic stress disorder.

The expert moderator for the March Journal Club is Dr. Adrian Barbul who is Professor of Surgery at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey.

The featured article is  Negative Pressure Wound Therapy for At-Risk Surgical Closures in Patients With Multiple Comorbidities: A Prospective Randomized Controlled Study by Madsen and associates that appeared in the June,2012 issue of Annals of Surgery. This article can be accessed for free by all who wish to participate in the Journal Club.
