This study compared clinical productivity between 20 anesthesiology groups, including both private-practice and academic groups, from 12 different states. Comparisons included per operating room site and per case measurements and total American Society of Anesthesiologists units per hour of anesthesia care. This study provides a methodology for industry-wide studies to allow for clinical productivity benchmarking to be performed by anesthesiology groups.
