'Move your foot to the right' may have no meaning for the patient with hemiplegia and hearing 'Aren't you going to finish your dinner?' When he thought he had may be so defeating as to make his struggle to recover even more difficult. This author offers clues that will help identfy problems such as these and, most important, suggests here some way: to overcome them.
