Assisting Aphasic Patients with Speech Rehabilitation

Speech therapy is easy to arrange in a large medical or rehabilitation center; in other places, expert consultation can be arranged by contacting the nearest appropriate voluntary or governmental service agency. However, in many areas where there is no speech pathologist, the nurse can use simple, direct methods to evaluate and then to help the aphasic patient regain the ability to receive communication, to comprehend it, and to express himself.
