MEDICAL FITNESS COMPENSATION SURVEY PUBLISHED
The Medical Fitness Association (MFA) recently released the results of the 2009 salary/compensation survey for the medical fitness industry. The major sections of the survey analyze and provide data on demographics, financial information, compensation, and industry trends. The compensation analysis includes salary data on management positions, hourly staff positions, and salary-to-revenue ratios by facility size. More than 30 job categories are included in the latest report, as well as information on aquatics, massage, yoga, personal training, and employee benefits.

NEW BOARD MEMBERS ANNOUNCED
The Medical Fitness Association (MFA) recently elected Brad Roy, Ph.D., FACSM, FACHE, as chairman of the Board of Directors of the MFA. Dr. Roy is an administrator/vice president at Kalispell Regional Medical Center, Kalispell, MT. As part of his responsibility, he oversees The Summit Medical Fitness Center. Dr. Roy is a former president of the Northwest Regional Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and has served on the ACSM Program, By-laws, and Credentials Committees. He also is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and current president of the Montana ACHE Chapter. Dr. Roy served as editor of the Medical Fitness Association Standards and Guidelines for Medical Fitness Center Facilities that was recently published and serves as an editor for a number of peer-reviewed professional journals.
Beginning a term as chairman-elect is Mike Dupuis, M.A., CCM, vice president of development/construction for the SHARE Foundation and executive director of HealthWorks Fitness Center, El Dorado, AR. Joining the Board as a new director-at-large is Robert Gotlin, D.O., director of Orthopaedic and Sports Rehabilitation in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan, NY.

The MFA Medical Fitness Conference is the premier education and networking event dedicated solely to the medical fitness industry. The Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, FL, will host the 15th annual event. Medical Fitness and Health Care: Imagine the Possibilities will feature educational workshops, special events, and the Athletic Business Conference and Expo.
