Walter R. Thompson, Ph.D., FACSM, FAACVPR, is a professor of exercise science in the Department of Kinesiology and Health (College of Education) at Georgia State University where he has a second academic appointment in the Department of Nutrition (College of Health and Human Sciences). He has lectured on health promotion and fitness topics in 21 countries on five continents. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the American College of Sports Medicine and is a member of its Administrative Council.
