This collection, developed for the Best Practices for Better Care initiative of the Association of American Medical Colleges, features articles and reports focused on all five commitments of Phase 1 of the program: (1) to teach quality and patient safety to the next generation of doctors; (2) to ensure safer surgery through use of surgical checklists; (3) to reduce infections from central lines using proven protocols; (4) to reduce hospital readmissions for high-risk patients; and (5) to research, evaluate, and share new and improved practices.
